Why St. Brigid's?

  • Our Year 8 pupils have a wide variety of after-school activities through the ASPIRE NI programme.
  • Our Year 8 boys won the National Ireland Orienteering Championships with our boys taking 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
  • In cross country we had two pupils - Peter Boyle and Dearbhla Duffy qualify for the Ulster Championships as a result of strong runs in the District Championships at University of Ulster, Coleraine. Both athletes finishing comfortably within the to 10 finishers.
  • Five of our pupils were medal winners in the Derry Schools Cross Country event at Oakgrove College.
  • Two of our girls - Emma Donnelly and Dearbhla Wilson - currently represent County Derry in Gaelic Football
  • Our pupils have opportunities to represent the school in a range of sports, including athletics, camogie, hurling and soccer [boys and girls]
  • Our pupils have access to a range of musical experiences, including tuition in drums and in brass, wind and traditional instruments.
  • Access to Education Authority tuition in all instruments
  • Our pupils have access to an after-school Homework Club.
  • The school is open on Saturday mornings to enable pupils to continue with coursework and to avail of study and ICT facilities.
