Dear Parents/Carers
Transition from Primary to Post Primary can be a very stressful time for both parents and children. In order to get an insight into what St Brigid’s College can offer your child I encourage you to read our prospectus. Our school is unique. It is the only all ability 11-18 co-educational school, with an Irish Medium stream and Autism Specific Centre providing a quality Catholic education in Derry. We educate pupils of all abilities and from across our city. Your child is firmly at the heart of everything we do at St Brigid’s College. Our single goal is to guide and support our pupils in a safe environment.
At St Brigid’s College, we focus on our core values of care, courtesy, respect and responsibility. Central to our support and care is the good order that stems from the firm yet fair discipline system in our school. We set high expectations of our pupils from when they start their journey with us until they leave; developing leadership at all levels in the school; providing a positive and rewarding learning environment and improving the quality of the pupils’ learning and their achievements.
At St Brigid’s College, we take great pride in the relationships between our pupils, staff, parents and the local community which is based on mutual respect. The dedicated, professional staff care deeply for the pupils placed in our care. We take time to get to know our pupils as individuals, providing them with a high-quality teaching and learning environment which has high expectations of all.
As well as your child being happy, of critical importance is their academic success. In recent years we have had unprecedented success at GCSE and A Level with pupils performing significantly above similar schools in Northern Ireland. Our curriculum caters for pupils of all abilities enabling them to pursue purely academic qualifications and/or vocational based qualifications.
We are a very popular school, because we deliver for our pupils, parents and the local community.
